Many People Love Spending Their Spare Time Doing Their Own Bottling And Kegging

By Jessica Phillips

Are you searching for the good method to store your craft beer? You will find 2 different ways to store your beer. The 2 methods that are good would be bottling and kegging.

Using bottles to store your beer can be cost effective if you are using commercial bottles. The benefits of using glass bottles are that they can't dent or twist off easily. Keep in mind that it does takes great effort to remove any pre- existing labels and cleaning it out, so it can be rather time consuming. You may also want to consider using brown colored bottles instead, as they help to block any UV lights that can cause bad smells in your bottle.

You will have to put boiling hot water inside your glass bottle when it's emptied out. This will prevent harmful bacteria from making the inside of your bottler their home. You are going to have to properly sterilize all your bottles before pouring beer into them. Experts recommend using your dishwashers heating cycle to kill all the harmful bacteria.

When you are ready to pour your beer into the glass bottles, don't forget that you need to put some corn sugar into it. This gives the yeast in your beer "food" to carbonate the craft beer. You must put the caps for your bottles in a piping hot water so that it will kill the bacteria growing inside it. When you have finished boiling the caps, you can put them onto each bottle.

If you plan to keg your beer, remember that it can cost a lot more money than bottling. You will have to make sure that you clean your keg properly before using it. If you keg your beer, you will be able to control the levels of carbonation to the exact amount that is required easily. This is important because too much carbonation can ruin the taste of the beer.

You'll have to bear in mind that each keg is more or less 25"-27" high. A lot of people go out and buy a special refrigerator for the sole purpose of cooling down their beer. That is the reason this method can be a costly affair.

It is very important that you sterilize each keg properly before pouring any beer into them. You don't want harmful microorganisms growing rapidly inside. When you are finished sterilizing your keg, it will be time to pour your beer into each keg. You will do this after your beer has finished fermenting. When you poured the beer into your keg, you will seal the keg with its cap. You are going to have to remove oxygen from your bee by using the relief valve located on the side of the keg.

Now you know that you have 2 options that need to be looked at if you want to brew craft beer. You can then sell and market your personal craft beer and bring in a profit. The amount you can sell it will depend on which option you select. Kegging and bottling are the best options that you need to research before you make your craft beer.
