Consuming Seafood In Las Vegas Can Help Lower Bad Cholesterol Levels

By Dorothy Kelly

Health professionals say that switching to a diet that's primarily plant-based is very good for keeping heart disease at bay. That's because it can help lower the levels of low density lipoprotein (LDL) or bad cholesterol present in one's blood. The consumption of fish regularly, however, is still deemed as highly beneficial as they supply the body with good fats. It's exactly due to this why cardiologists strongly recommend enjoying seafood in Las Vegas.

Bad cholesterol is referred to as such because it can put a person's health in grave danger. This type of fatty substance can in fact collect in the arteries, thus keeping blood from being able to circulate properly. Arterial clogging, health authorities confirm, can pave the way for a heart attack or stroke, depending on which arteries are affected primarily.

Having lots of bad cholesterol in the blood, needless to say, is a very serious matter. Such can be disclosed by a laboratory exam referred to as lipid profile. This kind of problem is something that everyone should try to dodge at all costs. Those who are suffering from heart disease or are at risk of developing it should maintain healthy blood cholesterol levels. Otherwise, it's very much possible for them to die all of a sudden.

It's no secret that various food sources from animals contain LDL cholesterol. Some of them have more of this nutrient, such as fatty cuts of beef and pork. Then there are those that contain very small amounts of bad cholesterol only. However, eating them all the time can still contribute to problems that have something to do with the heart.

It doesn't mean necessarily that all food products from animal sources should be avoided by individuals who like to attain optimum levels of blood cholesterol. If truth be told, cardiologists suggest regular addition of fish to the diet. Oily ones are those that are regarded as perfect for the job as they are loaded with good fats. Some popular examples of oily fish are mackerel, salmon, herring, tuna, sardines and trout.

These types of fish are loaded with what's referred to as omega-3 fatty acids. Basically, they are fats with health-giving properties. What makes them revered by doctors is the fact that they are scientifically-proven to reduce the levels of LDL in the bloodstream. If you're told by your primary health care provider that you have elevated blood cholesterol, then you may consider them as your best friends.

What's so amazing about omega-3 fatty acids is that they are very good fighters of inflammation. Cardiologists say that inflammation within can actually encourage arterial hardening and narrowing. Thanks to their anti-inflammatory properties, omega-3 fatty acids can also help deal with arthritis. Mental health authorities confirm that these good fats can help manage anxiety and depression, too.

For best results, heart experts recommend the addition of two servings of fish to the diet every single week. This is enough to help encourage normal levels of cholesterol in the bloodstream. It's certainly important to opt for fresh fish. Also, it is a must to cook it in a way that no unhealthy ingredient is added.
