If one likes to drink coffee, then he might be interested to know that there are actually alternatives to drinking this if one would want to kick off the habit of taking too much caffeine. The thing about caffeine is that it dehydrates the body too much and also damages the liver or kidney if taken in excessive amounts. So if one would want to stay healthy, then all he has to do is find the right coffee substitute for him.

On the top of the list of these drinks is teeccino and is made of some barley wheat along with some other flavorings. It does not taste like coffee but it has the texture that everyone knows and loves. It is also very good for health because it does not contain any gluten which is a substance that is known to cause a lot of health issues with people.

Another really great drink that one may have would be a blend that is made out of the dandelion root. The thing about this beverage is that it can go well with a lot of additions like almond milk and other types. Just like the teeccino, it is gluten free which makes it a very healthy drink for those who are health conscious.

A definite must in the list would be matcha tea which is the closest thing that one can get to drinking caffeine. Yes this drink does contain a little bit of caffeine in it but it is only a little bit and just about enough to give people energy. By drinking this, one does not need to go cold turkey when he is trying to kick off the habit of not taking caffeine.

Latte fans will also be pleased to know that there is an alternative for taking the very common coffee based latte. This drink is known as the vanilla latte and in order to make it, one just has to heat up almond milk that is vanilla flavored. After that, one may opt to put things like cocoa powder or other flavorings to make it have an extra taste.

If teas are known to be good substitutes, then the genmaicha will definitely make a great addition to this list. Basically, this drink is just green tea mixed with a little bit of roasted brown rice. Because of the roasted brown rice, the green tea will now have a somewhat nutty flavor and texture that most other drinks do not have.

For those people who need the extra energy boost in the morning, it is actually possible to get it without taking in any coffees. Fruit smoothies will be very good because it packs a lot of energy inside of it. Unlike caffeine, all the energy inside here is natural which means that there is no harm in drinking it.

So if one would want a good coffee substitute, then he may actually choose from the list. These are definitely healthier alternatives that are better for the body and will also serve as an energy booster. They also taste really good too.
