The most important basic need of man is food. Without this, a human being will not survive. Early civilization relied on fruits and vegetation as well as meat from animals. The discovery of cultivation and agriculture led to the planting of cereals which eventually became the main source of one of the most favorite nourishment that man has gotten used to. In the early days, a man wandered around and searched for food. They found edible plants bearing fruits which were the prime source of nourishment. Another substance available during those times was meat since men turned out to be seekers and huntsmen. The discovery of agriculture by itself would not have been sufficient to make way for baking. The most important milestones in existence of man is the discovery of fire and how to control it. Flour which is the main ingredient of bread is a product of cereal being grounded into fine form. Early civilization made this possible with the mortar and pestle which pounded the grains into powder form. This was further improved with the taming of beasts of burden which was harnessed to drag grinding stones which resulted in increasing the production of flour.

Another milestone occurred during the middle ages. This was the invention or the creation of windmills which harnessed the power of the wing to turn grinding stones which used to be done by animals. The windmill as the term implies resulted in growth of mills, a facility where grain was ground into flour. This was the beginning of flour mass production.

Tools have appropriate uses. The process of making this kind of product is the effect of modifications in technology. After a very long time, the changes of it assist the making of buns and loaves and getting a suitable and effective way of baking. Today, it is the result of changes in the functions of technology.

Having the main ingredient in the form of flour, the modern man became very creative in production of food items from this. With the aid of fire, the production of it became a no brainer. Ovens in older times were just makeshift and relied on coal and wood to produce the desired heat to bake. In contrast, modern ovens that are fired up with fossil fuel or gas are now the norm.

Every human being has different palates with regards to nourishment consumed. History says that the prime source of food of great advancement counted on it in order for people to survive and satisfy their needs. True enough, a lot of nations still depend on the existence of it, making it a huge contributor to the industry of food and drinks.

Civilizations have its ups and downs due to this good. One common behavior that affects the productivity of bread is hoarding. It definitely creates worries since prices of bread surely increase and give a threat of short supply. It is known to many that food is the basic food and need. But fret no more for the higher officials are on the guard for the supplies of sustenance.
