Healthy And Ethical Allnatural Pastured Pork

By Brian Collins

People everywhere are starting to recognize the value and benefits of choosing food that is all-natural. By studying the cellular makeup of the meat that goes out to consumers, scientific research has shown that animals raised in this way produce meat that is more nutritional. Allnatural pastured pork is also known to have less fat.

The ethical treatment of animals has become a top concern for many consumers. They want to know where their food comes from and how the animals were raised and treated. People now know much more about an animal's capacity to suffer.

When animals are allowed to roam free on a pasture, they will eat whatever comes naturally to them and they are able to get exercise, leading to a healthier animal than those that are confined. Cows that are raised like this are called grass-fed because grass is essentially all that they eat. Animals like pigs and chickens have a more diverse diet, so they are called all-natural or free-range.

Those who have realized how horribly animals can be treated often are plagued with guilt. It is important to remember that this is no one person's fault. The entire food industry has been responsible for this for a long time.

There is always a way for an individual to help the fight against the mistreatment of farm animals. The more that people talk about it, the more the issue will be heard by people in power. If the issue is talked about enough, eventually the prices of all-natural foods will go down.

Anyone who has ever been to what is known as a factory farm has seen firsthand the horrors of a CAFO, or concentrated animal feeding operation. Some people are so used to these that they can overlook the gross mistreatment of these animals. It is not hard to see how bad the living conditions are on these farms.

It is horrifying just how many health risks CAFOs pose to the general public. Most people would think that the only people who are at risk would be the ones who are eating the meat that comes from these animals. However, many people don't think about all the manure and toxic wastewater that has been known to flood into surrounding streams and rivers, which is a big reason for E. Coli breakouts and the spread of other dangerous, deadly diseases.

It is revolting what kinds of things animals are fed on factory farms. It seems like common sense that whatever food we give to the animals we eat will affect the people who eat those animals. In spite of this, factory farms feed their animals a variety of waste products including plastic, their own manure, and anything else to help them gain weight regardless of its toxicity.
