Yogurt

Part of a healthy balanced diet for breakfast or as a snack, yogurt can be used very creatively and replace the cream, butter and even mayonnaise for sauces and accompaniments. To be successful, the preparation requires total control and professional precision the oven KitchenAid offers.

ingredients : (doses for 1 liter of yogurt)

  •   1 liter of whole milk, fresh or long life (UHT)
  •   1 cl lactic (microbial culture) for yogurt (but check doses on the package)
  •   A food thermometer

Note: if you use milk UHT, skip the first step, you can dilute the temperature close to ambient.

Directions :

1. Heat 10 cl of fresh milk to 60 ° C. Let cool until the temperature drops below 40 ° C (beyond
heat kills enzymes).

2. Pour the yeast in a bowl and dilute it with milk warm. Pour the remaining milk, mix well. Pour into a large pot or possibly divide in pots individual. Cover and let stand on the worktop About 30 minutes.

3. Place the containers or still covered in the oven advised by display and select 'yogurt' in "Funct. Special ". The complete cycle will take between 6 and 8 hours, after which you get a smooth yoghurt creamy and perfectly fermented.

4. Remove yogurt from oven and let cool 30 minutes about. Now you can flavor it by adding dried fruit, syrups, jams and honey.
Unleash your imagination!

5. Place your yogurt in the refrigerator at a temperature below 4 ° C. The yogurt will keep for a
maximum period of 15 days.
